Unregistered vehicles parking on St. Bonaventure University’s property which have accumulated 5 tickets on 5 separate days may be immobilized (booted). Vehicles which have accumulated 5 or more unpaid tickets may also be booted at the discretion of the Office of Safety and Security. When a vehicle is booted there may be a $75 boot fee in addition to the parking fine.
Booting is the disabling of a vehicle by applying a clamp to a wheel that can only be removed by the Office of Safety and Security. Any attempts to remove the tire lock or drive the vehicle will cause damage. St. Bonaventure University is not responsible for damage to the car or property. If the boot is removed by a person or persons other than Safety and Security personnel, a fine of missing or damaged boot and criminal arrest may occur.
If you encounter a boot on your vehicle, please bring the Immobilization Notice left on your vehicle, your driver’s license, and your SBU ID to the Office of Safety and Security so arrangements may be made to remove the boot.
