Friedsam Memorial Library is where you can find the resources needed for papers and projects. The library also offers group and individual study and work space, along with two computer labs, wireless printing facilities, and WiFi throughout the building. The Technology Services Help Desk is located on the main floor. If you need a quiet space, head upstairs to the top floor, which was designated, by student request, as the "quiet floor." Because the library is an academic co-working space, with users of all ages, alcohol and tobacco products are prohibited, per University policy.
You can read the latest news from the campus newspaper or visit the archives of the BV online (no registration needed).

Due to COVID-19 visitor restrictions, we are unfortunately not able to welcome anyone into the building who is not a current student, faculty, or staff member.

We are an Empire State AcademicShare library. Therefore, AcademicSHARE Member libraries minimally agree to allow on-site access and lend materials to any current college student, staff, and/or faculty member from another Empire State AcademicShare member academic library. However, at minimum, a verifiable valid college I.D. is required. The library may choose to treat the college I.D. as confirmation the student/faculty member is in good standing. Other proof of identification or status may be required.
In addition, WNYLRC libraries listed below have agreed to continue to provide services to InfoPass cardholders who are not AcademicSHARE participants.
These are the WNYLRC academic institutions whose libraries are participating :
A list of other New York State libraries participating in Empire AcademicShare is located on Empire State Library Network at www.esln.org

The Amazing Library Race is a special library session designed especially for SBU 101/102 classes. In this session, students first learn more about how to use the library for their papers and projects. They then immediately apply their skills to find resources and answer questions in teams. Teams compete for a small prize that is given to the team that progresses the farthest in the race, with all correct answers, by the end of the class session.Soundtrack
