WSBU voted #4 College Radio Station in the nation for 2013

WSBU-FM 88.3 The Buzz has been voted No. 4 in The Princeton Review's the "Best College Radio Station" category. The Buzz, voted No. 1 in 2012 has ranked among the top five campus stations for a decade, capturing the No. 2 spot in 2009 and 2010, and the No. 4 ranking in 2011. The Princeton Review rankings take in 376 colleges across the nation.  

 

WSBU features news, music and campus events. Journalism and mass communication students work at the station for on-campus internship hours but anyone, even first-year students, can join. The station features a professional production studio, where students create promos and news stories with state-of-the-art effects and sound. Reach the station and listen live at www.wsbufm.net.  

     
    SBU-TV Newscast


SBU-TV is housed within the Koop Broadcast Lab, which is an area for students to work on projects. Projects include newscasts, student produced programs, movies and college-produced programs. WSBU-TV news is now viewed throughout Western New York via Time Warner Cable.

The Buzzworthy
 is a monthly music and entertainment magazine published by students involved in WSBU-FM 88.3 radio station. Features album, concert, movie and book reviews. The staff welcomes students from all majors and class years. Their studio is located in the Reilly Center.
 
   


Bonadieu


The Bonadieu,
St. Bonaventure's yearbook, gives students of all majors the chance to develop skills in writing, photography and design. Internship hours are awarded to both journalism and mass communication and business majors. The yearbook offers work study opportunities, and its office is located in Robinson H
all.  

 
     BonaVenture

The Bona Venture offers journalism and mass communication students the opportunity to work for St. Bonaventure's award-winning weekly newspaper. Students can join any of the following sections: news, features, sports, editorial, graphics, photography, advertising, business and online. The staff welcomes students from all majors and class years. The newspaper's office is located on the first floor of Robinson Hall and can be reached at www.thebv.org.  Laurel Spring 2012




Since 1898,
The Laurel has provided the St. Bonaventure community the opportunity to publish poems, prose, drawings and photographs. It remains the oldest consecutively published college literary magazine in the United States. The publication is now housed in Reilly Center. 







 

 
   

 

The Intreprid(2) The Intrepid is the only news medium created and maintained by students at St. Bonaventure University. Since its launch in February 2011, The Intrepid proudly delivers hyper-localized daily news with interactive content for its community, by its community. Promoting itself as a "teaching newspaper," The Intrepid editors take the time to work with new staff writers so they understand the basic and necessary skills needed for newswriting. With many great opportunities to get involved and be part of the paper, The Intrepid invites students in all majors to join and write!

AAF Presentation GroupAAF Case Study, a course that serves as the capstone advertising class, providing students with the opportunity to design a strategic advertising and media campaign for a corporate sponsor. Students present the finished campaign to various industry executives at the American Advertising Federation's National College Competition in the spring semester. This campaign project is recognized nationally as the "College World Series of Advertising." 

St. Bonaventure's student advertising agency, facing competition from several major universities, took third place in the District II National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) in New York City.    read more...
