Student Communications Media

You could say that St. Bonaventure University has made a science of the art of communication. In other words, there are lots of opportunities for students to explore the world of journalism and mass communication, both in and out of the classroom.

Student media includes the following outlets; click on the name of an outlet for more information.

The Bona Venture, the University's award-winning, student-run weekly newspaper.

WSBU The Buzz, the hottest campus radio station in the nation. (See box at right.)

SBU-TV and its state-of-the-art Bob Koop Broadcast Journalism Laboratory.

The Bonadieu, the University's award-winning yearbook first published in 1928.

The Laurel, the oldest consecutively-published collegiate literary publication in the country.

The School of Journalism and Mass Communication also maintains a page on Campus Media.

WSBU 'The Buzz' is No. 1

WSBU The Buzz

What's all The Buzz?

It might have something to do with the fact that WSBU-FM 88.3 The Buzz, St. Bonaventure's student-run radio station, holds the No. 1 spot on the "Best College  Radio Station" category in The Princeton Review's 2011 college guide, "The Best 376 Colleges." The Buzz held the top spot in the 2007 listing as well. The station, founded in 1948, broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week, offering a variety of music, from rock to hip-hop, along with news, sports and specialty shows.
