Residence Halls

St. Bonaventure University offers students a variety of choices in residence facilities. Students may choose from traditional residence hall living with single or double occupancy rooms to apartment-style townhouses for upperclassmen.


All residence hall rooms have a bed, desk, chair, dresser and closet space for each student. Rooms are also equipped with internet hookup for each student and cable connection that provides basic cable service. (Click on the links below to learn more about the residence halls.)

Residences For Freshmen 

Loughlen HallLoughlen Hall 

Loughlen Hall is located on the northwest side of campus is near the academic buildings, the Friedsam Library and the Magnano Centre where Hickey Dining Hall, Café La Verna, and the Rathskellar are located.  Loughlen is connected to Shay Hall by a lounge area where students can watch TV and socialize. Laundry facilities are located in the basement. Loughlen houses male and female students in double occupancy rooms. It was completely renovated in 2006.

Falconio2Robinson & Falconio Halls 

Robinson and Falconio Halls (referred to collectively as “Rob-Fal”) are located in the center of the campus, just steps away from the Reilly Center, the Sandra A. and William L. Richter Recreation Center, and the Quick Center for the Arts. The main dining facility, the Magnano Centre, is also nearby, as well as the Library and academic buildings.  Several student organizations and services are located in these halls including:

  • Student Government Association Offices
  • Computer Lounge
  • Office of Security Services
  • Honors Program Lounge
  • Offices of The Bonaventure (student newspaper), The Bonadieu (yearbook), and The Laurel (literary magazine)

Each hall contains its own laundry facility located on the first floor. A newly appointed and outfitted kitchen and dining area with a large-screen television is located on the first floor of Falconio.  Students enjoy lounge areas on each floor where they watch TV and socialize. Rob-Fal is equipped with double occupancy rooms and is co-ed by floor or wing with a maximum occupancy of 370.  Over the summer of 2010, all rooms will be painted with accent walls and some new furnishings will be installed.  This is added to renovations of the public spaces and lounges that took place one year ago.

DoyleDoyle Hall 

Doyle Hall is located next to Falconio Hall and is just steps from the Richter Center, Reilly Center, Quick Center, and is close to dining facilities, the library and academic buildings. Freshman are housed only on the fourth floor of this building, where the restrooms will be upgraded in the summer of 2010 – just in time for the arrival of our new students, the Class of 2014!  There is a lounge area on each floor with a TV and microwave and a laundry facility located in the lower level.  The rooms in this hall are larger than other rooms on campus.


Also located in Doyle Hall are the following offices and programs:

  • Health Services
  • Registrar’s Office (Class scheduling)
  • Teaching and Learning Center
  • History Department
  • University Chapel

Doyle houses male and female students by floor in double occupancy rooms and has a maximum occupancy of 130 students.

Sophomore, Junior and Senior Housing 

Dev with ivyDevereux Hall  

Devereux Hall is located in the middle of campus between the Hickey Dining Hall and The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. The hall is the oldest residence hall on campus, having been constructed in 1926 with an added wing in 1930. 


Each floor has a lounge area where students can gather to watch TV and socialize. A laundry facility is located on the first floor. The hall is a co-ed building (by floor) and houses 295 students in single and double occupancy rooms.

DoyleDoyle Hall 

Doyle Hall is located next to Falconio Hall and is just steps from the Richter Center, Reilly Center, Quick Center, and is close to dining facilities, the library and academic buildings. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are housed on the second and third floors. There is a lounge area on each floor with a TV and microwave and a laundry facility located in the lower level.  The rooms in this hall are larger than other rooms on campus.

Francis Hall Francis Hall 

Located on the east side of campus, Francis Hall  was formally Christ the King Seminary. Francis provides a unique living experience for students. The hall houses upperclassmen and graduate students in single occupancy rooms. It is co-ed by floor and houses up to 166 students.


The hall has its own cafeteria that serves dinner, which is included in the meal plan for Francis Hall residents. Francis also has its own student laundry facility. During the academic year, the Bona Bus system provides transport to the west side of campus.


Francis houses the University Relations division, which includes the offices for Development, Alumni Services, and Marketing and Communications. It is also home to the Damietta Center, SBU's diversity center.

Shay HallShay Hall 

Shay Hall is located near the academic buildings and Hickey Dining Hall on the northwest side of campus. Shay is connected to Loughlen Hall by a lounge area where students can watch TV and socialize. There are laundry facilities in the basements. The residence hall houses 118 students in suite-style rooms that were completely redone in 2006.

Townhouses & Apartments  

gardens living room (2).jpg(1)Apartment options vary from 4- and 6-person townhouses, 4-person apartments, and 6-person apartments. Most apartments provide private bedrooms and extensive common space. In the Garden apartments, students have roommates.
