About the Damietta Center  Origins of the Name  Student Groups
The mission of the Damietta Center is to act as a progressive educational channel providing all students with an enriched appreciation for differences through comprehensive diversity exposure.

What does that look like?

The Damietta Center is a comfortable place for all SBU students to simply come together to appreciate our similarities and respect our differences. The Center strives to combat biases and cultivate an appreciation for diversity through dialogue and interaction, and to attract and retain underrepresented students. It runs programs aimed at cultivating a campus-wide environment for cross-cultural interaction and supports various student organizations on campus.
