The Bonathon is the Annual Giving's most effective way to secure pledges from St. Bonaventure alumni, parents and friends. This student-driven calling program is held Sunday afternoon and Sunday through Wednesday evenings during the fall and spring semesters throughout the fiscal year, June 1 through May 31.
Approximately 24 Bona students enthusiastically call alumni, parents and friends of Bonaventure asking for their support of The Bonaventure Fund. The students enjoy speaking with our constituents and hearing about their fondest SBU memories.
The Bonathon receives gifts that range from $1 up to our leadership level Devereux Giving Societies ($1,000+). But no matter the size, all gifts make a difference in a student’s life. The fact is, each and every student benefits from gifts to the Bonaventure Fund, either directly or indirectly -- whether they are enjoying a latte at Café La Verna, working out at the Richter Center recreation facility or being awarded an annual scholarship. Our donors make it possible for St. Bonaventure to make our students extraordinary, preparing them academically and spiritually for the challenges of our increasingly competitive world.
Our goal this year is $350,000, which is part of our overall Bonaventure Fund goal of $2.7 million. Whether you give $5 or $500,000, every gift to The Bonaventure Fund counts and will make a difference in the lives of our students. When a student calls this year, we ask that you please be as generous as you can -- and don’t forget to share a favorite memory of St. Bonaventure with the student.
