MU 316. History of Rock and Roll

Description:

This course will be an historical overview of popular music primarily from the second half of the 20th century to the present. The course examines rock and roll in all its forms, starting with the precursors of rock and roll and ending with current trends in the popular music scene. Changes in music production and distribution, evolutions of instrumentation and style and the advent of electronics and technology will be addressed.
