The Department of Computer Science hosts two exciting events to engage pre-college students in computer science: Girls' Day and the High School Programming Contest. A brief description of each event is provided below. Follow the links to the Computer Science departmental website for more information about the events.
In this event, typically held each fall, women involved in the computer science field provide girls in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades with hands-on computer experiences. The girls also have an opportunity to meet and interact with these successful women. Sponsored by St. Bonaventure and the Lenna Foundation, there is no cost to participate. No date has been set for the 2017 Girls Day event. Please return for updates.
The contest provides an opportunity for high school students to demonstrate their programming skills in a competitive environment. In addition to students from Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania, the contest has attracted students from Ohio, Delaware, Virginia, Maryland, and even California. Learn more
