The Office of Marketing and Communications is located on the second floor of Francis Hall on the East End of campus. During the academic year, our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Summer hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For the second year in a row, November has gotten a little hairier at St. Bonaventure University.
Some 178 students, faculty staff and alumni have grown or supported the growing of moustaches in partnership with Movember, a global men’s health charity. The goal during the 30-day campaign during November is for men to change their appearance — by growing a moustache — and attitudes men have toward their health.
The St. Bonaventure team, MoBonas, is raising funds this year in memory of Dr. Jeffrey Peterson, longtime chair of the Department of Finance who died of cancer in February.
“Jeff was a friend and mentor to so many students and faculty on campus. He had a great mustache in his earlier teaching days and we thought it would be a fun and joyful way to honor Jeff,” said team captain Dave Hilmey, an assistant professor of chemistry and director of the University Honors Program.
“He has been a big part of our Movember team and we are grateful to all those connected to Jeff who have supported this movement,” added Hilmey.
To date, the team has raised more than $3,800 of its $5,000 goal. The team includes men who are growing moustaches for the month, as well as women (referred to as Mo Sistas) who see this as an opportunity to support the men in their lives.

The deadline for contributions is 2 p.m. Dec. 9.
