Lehman named associate VP for grants and research, and chief of staff, at St. Bonaventure

May 08, 2019

Ann Lehman has been named associate vice president for grants and research, and chief of staff, President Dennis R. DePerro, Ed.D., announced today.

Lehman, who will have a seat on the president’s Senior Executive Management Team, had been associate vice president for Academic Affairs since 2015. She is a co-chair of the University Planning Commission.

A 21-year employee of the university, Lehman previously served St. Bonaventure as director of Institutional Research, registrar, and School of Business academic coordinator.

“Ann’s considerable experience in institutional research and planning will be invaluable as we develop a more data-driven approach across the university. Her focus on securing grants will be vital if we hope to realize our vision for St. Bonaventure,” DePerro said. “Moving Ann from Academic Affairs to a direct report to the president makes good business sense since our funding priorities concern the entire institution.”

As chief of staff, Lehman will serve as a confidential senior adviser to DePerro and report directly to him on a wide variety of administrative and executive duties, special projects, and initiatives involving the President’s Office.

She will serve as liaison between the President’s Office, Senior Executive Leadership Team, President’s Council and other campus and external entities.

“Bringing Ann into this role will allow Tom Buttafarro to focus more intentionally on his work as our director of Board, Community & Government Relations, which is of great importance as we cultivate external relationships and strive to create ‘A Bolder Bonaventure,’” DePerro said.
