University Ministries

Welcome to University Ministries

As Thomas Merton once wrote, "Our real journey in life is interior ... it is a matter of growth, deepening, and of an ever greater surrender to the creative action of love and grace in our hearts."

As a team of ministers we are committed to this journey ourselves, eager to accompany your journey, and always ready to serve you.

Fr. Francis Di Spigano, O.F.M.
Executive Director of  University Ministries

Mission Statement

As disciples of Jesus Christ in the Catholic Franciscan tradition, we are called to form community with all the members of our University family.  We strive to live well with one another, celebrating life together and serving others in keeping with the Gospel call for justice, peace and the integrity of creation.

San Damiano Cross

San Damiano CrossThe San Damiano Cross is the cross St. Francis kneeled before when he received the commission from the Lord to rebuild the Church.

All Franciscans cherish his cross as a symbol of their mission from God.

Stop by, we're always open!

University Ministries is located in the Thomas Merton Center in the heart of campus. We're open to students and staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
