Parents

Dedicated to Professional Success

As a parent, you play a critical role in the professional development of your child. The Career Planning Course for parents outlines ways in which you may encourage your student to engage in positive professional development throughout the undergraduate experience.

The Career and Professional Readiness Center at St. Bonaventure University is committed to helping your student achieve academic success and career satisfaction.  The Professional Development Action Plan (PDAP) provides a strategy for career readiness. Students participating in this career development experience will progress through the steps of self-assessment and discovery (Emerge), professional engagement (Engage), and transition to post-graduate experiences (Evolve).

In order for your student to be best prepared for a future career, a visit to the Career and Professional Readiness Center is highly recommended. Encouraging your student to setup an appointment with our office is a great way to kickstart their professional development.

The staff at the CPRC was instrumental in providing me with the appropriate skill set and knowledge to successfully obtain an internship. I consider the CPRC a 'must' for students who are applying and interviewing for job positions.”

At the CPRC, our career counselors welcome any questions your student might have regarding career or life planning. Events are scheduled throughout the year to facilitate continued career development and vocational assessments are administered to encourage career exploration. We also recommend that all students adopt their Professional Development Action Plan early in their academic journey.
