Academics that inspire. Award-winning student outreach organizations. Athletics victories. Alumni who are succeeding and leading the world over. These are just a few examples of what your gifts to St. Bonaventure have accomplished--all of which prove The Power of a Bonnie!
When we work together, we inspire others and change lives. A.J.’s story (see below) is just one of many that illustrate the collective power of our involvement with the University.

A.J. Vitanza, ’15, sums up his academic career at Bona’s in three words: “Adventurous. Encompassing. Humbling.”
This finance/management double major, who is also a prop on the rugby team, member of SIMM and ENACTUS, and participant in our Oxford Program, says what he has learned best at Bona’s is selflessness.
“I want to say thanks for the many opportunities,” he says. “You’ve inspired a lot of us to participate, graduate, and give back.” Learn more about A.J.
At its core, the project will help expose St. Bonaventure students to diverse research opportunities and will offer significant educational experiences. “The whole idea is to help students broaden their view,” said Dr. Zhang. “It will help students understand the importance of math and computer science, and will train them in multiple disciplines.”
Alumni and friends of St. Bonaventure University will return to campus this weekend for the university’s annual Alumni Reunion Weekend.
Special recognition is given to graduating classes going back in five-year increments, from the class of 2009 to the 50-year class of 1964, although alumni from all classes are encouraged to attend. More than 900 people are expected to return for the weekend’s activities.
Friday’s activities include walking tours of campus and special class dinners at various off-campus venues. The evening will end with a social in the recently renovated Rathskeller on campus.
Saturday’s events include golf at the SBU course; a donor-recognition breakfast with Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., university president; a campus tour and a number of campus open houses; the Athletics Hall of Fame induction at the Quick Center for the Arts at 1 p.m.; a talk by China Studies program founder Don Swanz on “China: Friend or Foe”; and the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new athletics field project.
The Alumni Memorial Mass will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the University Chapel. Alumni will then gather at 5:30 p.m. at Premier Banquet Center for a cocktail reception and the annual Reunion Dinner, featuring the William “Stax” McCarthy Alumni of the Year presentation.
The weekend concludes Sunday morning with a breakfast in Hickey Dining Hall and a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the University Chapel.
