Bona Advantage Scholarship

Eligible students will receive a scholarship equivalent to 15 percent of the tuition cost. The SBU graduate school application serves as the scholarship application. No additional paperwork is required for application or renewal.

Eligibility Criteria

Any new student accepted in regular status into any SBU graduate degree program who has earned a bachelor's degree from either St. Bonaventure University or Hilbert College within the last five years* and is embarking on graduate studies for the first time. Both full-time and part-time students are eligible.

Students receiving graduate assistantships are not eligible for the Bona Advantage Scholarship, except if taking more courses in one semester than the assistantship covers. For example, if a student is receiving a graduate assistantship that covers nine credit hours in the semester, but is registered for 12 credit hours, that student will be eligible to receive a Bona Advantage Scholarship equal to 15 percent of the cost of the three credit hours not being covered by the assistantship.

The Bona Advantage Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with any other St. Bonaventure grant, concession, scholarship (including the Dean's Graduate Scholarship) or waiver.

*Students graduating in May are eligible if they are enrolled beginning the term following the fifth anniversary of their graduation. A student who establishes eligibility under the five-year window will retain eligibility for the duration of enrollment in the program of entry. Students accepted in evaluation status will be eligible for the scholarship for the first full semester in which they have achieved provisional or regular acceptance status.
