Why Differentiated Instruction at SBU?

Incleducation_2.jpgusive education is a vital component of the social justice mission of St. Bonaventure University. Our inclusive graduate programs provide a unique and innovative way for special and general education teachers to specialize in inclusive education – a critical area of expertise in today's schools.

In addition to the explicit focus on inclusive education, the vision of these programs encompasses students with the full range of exceptionalities – gifted, as well as those with disabilities. This coursework provides sufficient attention to the needs of gifted students to enable our graduate students to pursue the certificate extension in Gifted Education. Strategies for students with challenging behaviors, assistive technology, and a field-based philosophy of graduate education are other important features of these programs.
