Hello prospective students,
My name is Cody Clifford, and I am the 2012-2013 president of the Student Government Association's executive board. Three years ago, I was in the same position as you, and now I cannot be happier with my decision to attend St. Bonaventure University. One of the biggest decisions of your life is made when selecting a college or university, and finding the perfect fit may seem impossible, but I can promise you that everything is going to work out.
Why St. Bonaventure?
The answer is easy. Bonaventure is one of the most unique universities in the country, offering endless opportunities to its students in an environment that feels like family. Often referred to as “The Bona Bubble,” the tight-knit community of students, faculty, staff and community members is always there to give you, or any other Bonnie, the support and resources needed to grow beyond your college career.
Bona's offers much more than most universities, big and small, striving for the betterment of its students while instilling Franciscan values as students are being molded into extraordinary students, peers and young professionals.
Students have endless opportunities to get involved:
- join one of our more than 50 on-campus clubs;
- be among the 80 percent of our students who play on some type of Atlantic-10, club or intramural sports team;
- give to the campus and community through Universities Ministries;
- run for a class office and be a voice for your peers.
Once a Bonnie . . .
You will also have opportunities to meet and network with alumni who are always happy to help fellow SBU graduates. There's a familiar saying around here: “Once a Bonnie, ALWAYS a Bonnie."
Our Career and Professional Readiness Center will work with you to create a marketable resume, help you find and land an internship, and prepare you for life after SBU, whether your intention is to continue your studies in graduate school or land that first meaningful job.
There is a niche for everyone and one-of-a-kind resources that reassure your college experience is going to be everything you anticipated, and more!
I suggest you visit our 550-acre campus and see for yourself that “The Bona Bubble” has the potential to become your second home. It's an extraordinary place to spend what should be the best four years of your life. Meet current students and faculty, and get a feel for what the campus has to offer.
On behalf of the entire executive board, I wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors and hope to see you on campus soon!
Best regards,
Cody Clifford
