Several years ago the rugby alumni at St. Bonaventure University instituted an exciting pledge drive, the Try Fundraiser, to support the team as their success grew.
This year, inspired by Mark Fitzgerald `81 and Bill Kelly `95, the Try Fundraiser is back. The rules are simple: you pledge a specific amount of money for each try (or kick) made by the Bona Rugger of your choice. When they fulfill the pledge, you pay up! It doesn’t have to only be an individual player. You can select positions (props, wings, etc), type of try (40-plus meter, maul, etc) or different groups (freshmen, Harvey alumni, etc).
