St. Bonaventure University Running Club Sport (SBURCS) is a newly formed program that started during the spring semester of 2012. We are a co-ed team situated in the Southern Tier of Western New York. We will be a part of the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA) in the fall of 2012.

If you're an individual whose:
- passion is to run

We welcome everyone who wishes to better the sport that we, as members of SBURCS, enjoys to do -- and that is to run!
Possible Concerns
Question: What are the requirements to join?
Answer: There are no requirements to join for students who are non-varsity athletes and faculty/staff; just come, run, and have fun! However, the NIRCA specifically states in their constitution that any athlete, faculty, or staff member can't compete in races. So, only non-athletes who are undergraduate and graduate students may compete.
Question: What if I can't keep up with the group?
Answer: The SBURCS mentality is that NO ONE runs alone and that there will always be someone at your pace. SBURCS is a community, meaning there is no "I" in "team." SBURCS is built around each and every one of us so no one will ever be abandoned on our runs.
Question: What if I want to join just to stay-in-shape, not to compete?
Answer: That's all right, not everyone will want to compete. Just come to the practices. We won't expect you to compete unless you want to.
Question: What if I become too busy and have to quit?
Answer: SBURCS believes that when things get tough, it's important to put things in perspective and pioritize. Practices are important but sometimes it can be hard to attend. Remember, even the council leaders might not make it to a practice. We believe that academics come first, as well as other personal issues. All you have to do is to inform the captains about your absence. Please, the last resort we want is for you to quit.
Question: What happens if I have medical problems?
Answer: SBURCS is flexible and will help in any way possible. Make sure you inform us and we will make accommodations.
