The Black Student Union works to facilitate the educational success and cultural, social, and civic awareness of Bonaventure’s African-American students, along with that of the greater Bonaventure community. We also strive to educate BSU members and other Bonaventure students on African-American cultural issues.
We hold events such as our annual Black and White party and Halloween party, Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, Black History Month show, Soul Food Dinner. We also host round-table discussions such as "Ever Wonder Why?," which attempted to break down barriers and increase understanding by giving students and faculty the opportunity to ask questions that individuals of different backgrounds fear asking about one another.
We encourage everyone, regardless of race or background, to join BSU! Come share your ideas, break down barriers and have fun. If you’re looking for an organization that feels like family and you want to give back, learn something new, educate others and make lifelong friends, then the BSU is the place for you.
