Mission Statement
The mission of the Management Club is to contribute to the growth of our members’ business experience. We provide our members an opportunity to develop personally and professionally through education, through association with business professionals, and through the development of leadership roles.
We also promote the opportunity for students in our club to become educated and caring members of the university community and to a greater degree, to the general business community.
Meeting Schedule
The club meets approximately bi-monthly or more often as needed. The spring semesters tend to be busiest for the club. Meeting times are posted on the Notice Board and are posted throughout Murphy Professional Building a few days prior to a meeting.
Club Trips/Activities
The club sponsors an annual trip to a major city each spring semester. At that time, activities are arranged so that students can meet/tour well-known businesses and acquire a greater sense of the day-to-day operations of successful organizations.
In conjunction with these trips, an alumni event is annually held at the destination city where club members have an opportunity to meet and develop a relationship with alumni and possibly, potential employers. In recent years, trips have been made to Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.
Smaller, more local trips have been taken in the past, usually in the fall semester. In this manner, club members have been able to tour businesses located at a closer proximity. In recent semesters, the club has visited businesses in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo, NY.
Members of the club have also been active in volunteering for BonaResponds, an organization that has supported relief activities in storm-ravaged areas of the U.S.
Fundraising
Each year, club members have been involved in raising money that has been earmarked for club trips. Most recently, students have sold items at Bonagany in conjunction with Family Weekend, an activity that is held in the fall semester.
