About the Director

Dr. Barry L. Gan is a professor of philosophy and the director of The Nonviolence Program at St. Bonaventure University.

He is currently editor of The Acorn: Journal of the Gandhi-King Society, and served (1) for two years as co-editor of Peace and Change: A Journal of Peace Research, Journal of the Peace History Society and the Peace and Justice Studies Association, and (2) for two years as program committee chair of the oldest and largest interfaith peace group in the United States, the Fellowship of Reconciliation.

 

Dr. Gan has taught at St. Bonaventure University for the past 27 years since receiving his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in philosophy from the University of Rochester in 1981 and 1984, respectively. Prior to that he taught high school and junior high school English for six years.
