Political Science: The department is strongly committed to the notion that an active, lifelong, and intelligent involvement in the political world is critical to democracy and social progress. The student is encourged to participate in one of several internship programs or social action opportunities.
Psychology: The department is committed to presenting psychology as a behavioral science. The intent is that every student in the program becomes capable of appreciating and implementing the role and value of a scientific approach to understanding behavior and mental processes, in career, community service, public citizenship and personal contexts.
Sociology: The value set characterizing all activity in this department is a belief in the basic dignity of every human being. Students look at various facets of the contemporary social world in a scientific and empirical manner, analyzing social structures, interactive processes, institutions, social group relationships, cultural-environmental interrelatinships and more.
