Preparation for the health profession
INTRODUCTION
The undergraduate educational requirements for health-related professions differ from field to field. While a degree in biology is not a requirement for acceptance into most health-related educational institutions, we do recommend it.
All biology majors are given an academic advisor upon entering the university. If, at the end of the freshmen year, the student has maintained at least a 3.00 GPA and is still interested in the health professions, he or she will be transferred to one of our health professions advisors, Dr. Peter Schneible, OFM of the Biology Department or Dr. Donna Brestensky of the Chemistry Department.
All biochemistry and non-biology majors interested in pursuing a career in a health-related field should contact one of the health professions advisors as soon as possible.
