Paul Bremmer '12 is a junior from Lakewood, NY. In addition to his major in Political Science, Paul is working on minors in Journalism and Theatre.
According to Paul, he chose to study Political Science “because it seems like one of the most important things a person could possibly study. I want my life to be meaningful, and to me, that involves helping to improve the condition of humanity. Politicians are in a unique position to do that because they have the power of the government behind them. “
Last summer Paul worked as a constituent specialist intern for New York State Senator Catherine Young.
In addition to politics, Paul enjoys reading about history, watching sports, listening to music, singing and acting. He has written articles for The Bona Venture and has been involved in two SBU Theatre productions. |

Ashley Oliver '13 is a sophomore and a Political Science major. She loves singing, sports, reading, movies, and FCCLA. She also likes to ski and shop.
Ashley started out as a Biology major. But, after her first semester, she realized her strengths lie in leadership, public speaking, and government. Choosing Political Science as her major was the best choice she has ever made. Her teachers have been open to questions and have given her optimism about my future. She says , “now that I know where I want to go, they are pushing me to go beyond my expectations for myself.” Ashley is now applying for a Washington Center internship for her junior fall semester. Eventually, she wants to go on to Law School and become a government official.
Ashley hopes that if you are planning on becoming a Political Science student, you need to use all the opportunities given to you. She had no idea what she wanted to do when she first came to St. Bonaventure, but now that she has her mind set on a career, she is finding out the right pieces to put together. She has been taking opportunities to widen her views and opening her mind to new perspectives. “I hope that if you are interested in politics, government, law, public speaking, leadership, or anything else, you should consider St. Bonaventure as the school to see you off on your journey.” says Ashley.
