Challenge 24: Previous Competitions

2011 Challenge 24

The 2011 Challenge 24 Competition was held on Saturday, April 9. In all, there were 47 students from 11 schools attending. The participating schools were Cuba Elementary; Cuba-Rushford Middle School; Friendship; the four Olean elementary schools of Boardmanville, East View, Ivers J. Norton, and Washington West; Olean Middle School; Otto-Eldred Elementary School; and Otto-Eldred Middle School; and Southern Tier Catholic. Medals, in the traditional colors of gold, silver, and bronze, were awarded to the first, second, and third place students in each grade. Congratulations to all!

2010 Challenge 24

The 2010 Challenge 24 Competition was held on Saturday, March 13. This year, we expanded the competition to include 3rd-graders. In all, there were 52 students from 10 schools attending. The participating schools were Cuba Elementary; Cuba-Rushford Middle School; Hinsdale Central School; the four Olean elementary schools of Boardmanville, East View, Ivers J. Norton, and Washington West; Olean Middle School; Otto-Eldred Elementary School; and Otto-Eldred Middle School. Medals, in the traditional colors of gold, silver, and bronze, were awarded to the first, second, and third place students in each grade.

2009 Challenge 24

The 2009 Challenge 24 Competition was held on Saturday, March 21. There were 58 students from 14 schools attending. The participating schools were Cuba Elementary; Cuba-Rushford Middle School; Friendship Central School; Hinsdale Central School; the four Olean elementary schools of Boardmanville, East View, Ivers J. Norton, and Washington West; Olean Middle School; Otto-Eldred Elementary School; Otto-Eldred Middle School; School Street Elementary; Smethport Central School; and Southern Tier Catholic School.

2008 Challenge 24

The 2008 Competition was held on Saturday, March 29. There were 67 students from 12 schools attending. The participating schools were Cuba Elementary, Cuba-Rushford Middle School, Fretz Middle School, Hinsdale Central School, Boardmanville Elementary, Ivers J. Norton Elementary, Washington West Elementary, Otto-Eldred, St. Bernard School, Salamanca Middle School, School Street School, and Smethport.

2007 Challenge 24

The 2007 Competition was held on the mathematically appropriate date of March 24. Forty-two students from nine schools competed. The participating schools were Cuba Elementary, Cuba-Rushford Middle School, Boardmanville Elementary, East View Elementary, Ellicottville Central, Hinsdale Central, Olean Middle School, Salamanca Middle School, Washington West Elementary.

2006 Challenge 24

In the 2006 Competition, held April 1, fifty-one students from eight schools competed. The participating schools were Cuba Elementary, Cuba-Rushford Middle School, Boardmanville Elementary, East View Elementary, Washington West Elementary, Olean Middle School, Salamanca Middle School, and Southern Tier Catholic.

2005 Challenge 24

In the 2005 Competition, held March 12, fifty-seven students from nine schools competed. The participating schools were Cuba Elementary, Cuba-Rushford Middle School, Ellicottville Central, Boardmanville Elementary, East View Elementary, Washington West Elementary, Olean Middle School, Salamanca Middle School, and Southern Tier Catholic.

2004 Challenge 24

On Saturday, March 29, fifty-five students from nine schools competed. The participating schools were Cuba Elementary, Cuba-Rushford Middle School, Ellicottville Central, Boardmanville Elementary, East View Elementary, Washington West Elementary, Olean Middle School, Salamanca Middle School, and Southern Tier Catholic.
