St. Bonaventure University accounting students voulnteered 2,000 hours of their time to help local tax payers earn $700,000 in tax refunds this year. 

 

A group of 50 volunteer tax preparers, most of them St. Bonaventure students, worked from Jan. 26 through April 3 to generate an impressive 450 tax returns for working families in Cattaraugus County. read more>>

In 1965, he became the first of his family to earn a college degree and receive his ROTC commission in the U.S. Army.

The First Niagara Foundation has committed $500,000 to St. Bonaventure University's School of Business Campaign.  The gift pays tribute to the late William E. Professor says elections influence decisions of DAs  
Dr. Bryan McCannon, associate professor of economics in the Department of Finance, says that his research indicates that when election pressures are great, more felony charges go to court and fewer cases result in plea bargains.  The evidence suggests that trials, which typically generate longer sentences and garner publicity, are a vehicle used to gain support from voters, says McCannon.

Accounting professors secure PricewaterhouseCoopers grant for minority recruitment  Darwin King, professor of accounting, Dr. Carl Case, professor of management information systems, and Kathleen Premo, lecturer in management sciences, presented a paper titled "An International Mission Statement Comparison: United States, France, Germany, Japan, and China" at the Allied Academies International Conference held in Las Vegas, October 12-14, 2011.  The paper earned a Distinguished Research Award, which was awarded to only 18 percent of the papers at the conference.  Earning this award insures that the paper will be published in the Academy of Strategic Management Journal (ASMJ).
