The program is located at the Centro Internacional de Idiomas, Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara (UAG). Guadalajara, the capital of the state of Jalisco, is Mexico's second largest city, with a population of 5 million people.
Founded in 1542, Guadalajara has a colorful history and can count el jarabe tapatio (the Mexican had dance), sombreros, mariachis, and tequila among its more famous creation. The city has numerous museums and cathedrals of interest, and is modern with low pollution levels.
UAG provides students with the opportunity to increase their Spanish language skills in a culturally rich environment. The academic program offers university level Spanish courses and the opportunity to take direct enrollment courses at UAG in a variety of disciplines in the Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences and Technologies, and Health Sciences.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the Spanish speaking environment through extracurricular activities and personalcontact with Mexican people. Students live with Mexican families during the program, and participate in an excursion to a location of historical or cultural significance during each 4-week course.
