NOTE: Activities that result in academic credit toward a course, other than JMC 498 (Internship), cannot be applied toward the 400-hour requirement.
On-Campus: Communications-related work for a student-run organization. Examples include, but are not limited to, internships with WSBU-FM, the campus radio station; The Bona Venure; the student newspaper; The Bonadieu, the yearbook; The Laurel, the campus literary magasine; or work as a member of the St. Bonaventure chapter of the American Advertising Federation.
The School of Journalism and Mass Communication keeps students up to date on internship opportunities throughout the school year. Internships also are posted on a bulletin board near the J/MC offices, and students are notified of opportunities by email, Twitter and Facebook. Professors notify their students in classes as well.
St. Bonaventure alumni also offer valuable help in finding and landing internships.
Charles Specht, '10, was an intern at NBC's Meet The Press while attending SBU.
