Twentieth Century America in Film and History offers an exploration of United States cultural and social history through the medium of film and other mediums of mass culture. Throughout the semester students will view a variety of films arranged in chronological order. The class will discuss and write about those films as primary documents within an historical context, as manifestations of popular culture, as reflections of society, as manifestations of business and technology, and as works of art.
