AMERICAN COLLEGE OF THESSALONIKI 
The American College of Thessaloniki, a division
of Anatolia College,is an independent, non-profit, liberal arts college.
Thessaloniki, founded in 315 BC, is the second largest city in Greece, located about 300 miles north of Athens in the ancient province of Macedonia. Nearby, Mount Olympus, Mount Athos, and the coastal resorts of the Halkidiki Peninsula offer many sightseeing and recreational opportunities.
With its rich history and strategic geopolitical location, Greece offers a contemporary lifestyle as well as the presence of the rich heritage of both the east and west. Anatolia College is an American-sponsored, private educational institution founded in 1886. Classes held at Anatolia's beautiful 45-acre campus are small enough to ensure close interactions between the professor and student. Many of the campus buildings overlook the city.
Academic Program Highlights
The American College of Thessaloniki offers programs of study in the arts and sciences, and in business administration. All coursework is taught in English, and no prior study or knowledge of Greek language is required. Students choose one course from each of the following subject areas: Greek language, Anthropology, History, and Political Science/Sociology.
In addition, two courses are chosen from the following: Accounting, Economics, English, European Studies, Finance, History, Humanities, management, marketing, and Philosophy. Students earn up to 17 undergraduate credits on the program, and the program is open to students with a 2.5 GPA and at least college freshman standing.
Student Life
Program participants have a choice of living in an on-campus or off-campus apartment. The on-campus apartments are small, European style quarters which include kitchen and bath facilities. Students can also rent a room in a house or apartment off-campus (shared with other CCIS participants) located a short distance from The American College of Thessaloniki.
Extracurricular activities are an important part of the program, including cross-cultural orientation programs, excursions, museum visits, archeological digs, dance classes, and student clubs. Excursions may include Athens, Vergina-Dion, Meteora and Mount Athos.
