Children’s Literature is intended to acquaint the student with the best in children's literature and its contributions to the school curriculum. A major focus is helping teachers to motivate their pupils to read a wide range of books to build an understanding of texts, of themselves, and of the cultures of the United States and the world. The various genres of children's literature will be explored. Strategies for using literature in the classroom will be analyzed.
