Dear Students,
I am proud and pleased to report that we have surpassed our goal of the 150th Anniversary Campaign, raising more than $95 million for scholarships, faculty and staff development, and a range of academic and co-curricular programs.
More than 20,000 donors, including nearly 50 percent of our alumni base, demonstrated their faith in the University and the work we do by contributing to the Campaign and enabling us to ...
- Create 100 new scholarships
- Construct four buildings and three sports facilities
- Garner 20 million-dollar commitments
- Expand academic and co-curricular programs
- Enhance technology
- Renovate facilities
- Support our Franciscan mission
Additionally, strong support for the 2009 Faculty and Staff Campaign pushed us over the top of our $75,000 goal by $168.34. Of this amount, $31,000 represents new or increased commitments, which have helped the University secure a $25,000 challenge match made by Trustee Timothy Fidgeon, '65. As a salute to the dedication of our faculty and staff, Mr. Fidgeon has established an endowment to support faculty and staff development.
And there is more good news to share. The Bonaventure Fund, which is the University's unrestricted annual fund that provides support for current needs, garnered a total of $18,208,826 during the campaign's span of June 2000 through May 2009, exceeding its $18 million goal.
Our alumni, friends and benefactors are clearly committed to helping you achieve your higher education goals. I hope this message finds you well and enjoying your summer. I look forward to seeing you on campus in August.
Pax et Bonum. Peace and good,
Sr. Margaret Carney, O.S.F., S.T.D.
President
