St. Bonaventure University education interns Abbie Milliman and Shauna Klotz designed a lesson where children would create an interactive, cooperative piece of artwork in the style of Robbin Murphy. This lesson was originally developed for the PreK tours and later adapted for other grades, including Allegany- Limestone Elementary School’s second grade class of over one hundred students. During their field trip to The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, children toured the 20th Century exhibition Out of the Soup Can: Mid-Century and Beyond and learned about 20th century artists, including Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Robbin Murphy (see above). Children later created their own artwork, using a picture of the school as the foundation for the work. |
