Archbishop Walsh African Tour
Tenth and eleventh graders from Archbishop Walsh Academy
were studying Africa and asked if they could come to the
Quick Center for a tour of the African Exhibition in the Kenney
Gallery, on loan from Wake Forest University. Students and
their teachers came to The Quick Center, thanks to a bus
grant from Colette Dow, and were given a tour of the exhibit
by Helen Johnson, a Quick Center docent and former Spanish
teacher at Archbishop Walsh Academy. Students were given a
sketching lesson by Education Assistant Miranda Armagost,
where they focused on the functions, styles and history
behind African masks.

If you wish to participate in a Curriculum Connection tour at
