Be mediocre or be extraordinary — that’s the choice I give all of my students. Once they commit I do everything in my power to give them what they need to excel — real resources, real work, real risk, and real opportunities. The results are incredible. In the past few years, our students have started an economic development zone and an ongoing after-school program in the Bahamas, crafted a new way to market high school blood drives, helped to build an ice skating rink that is an ongoing business venture for local high school students, developed a fiscal literacy program for soon-to-be-released prison inmates (the only one of its type in the country), and helped run some of the largest collegiate hurricane relief programs in the country.
