Richter Center a perfect fit at SBU
Thousands of students visit the state-of-the-art Sandra A. and William L. Richter Center each month, creating an enhanced culture of student activity that is centered on wellness.
More than 80 percent of St. Bonaventure students take part in intramurals, club sports or fitness programs annually.
The Richter Center features three basketball courts (including a multi-purpose court that can be used for floor hockey, soccer and other activities), an indoor running/walking track, an aerobics room, courts for racquetball, squash and wallyball, a weight room, 5,000 square feet of cardiovascular and weight equipment, locker rooms, a reception area, and a climbing wall.
Wellness Activities
Since the Richter Center opened in 2004, the number of monthly visits has never been fewer than 6,000. Many students and staff members take part in structured programs aimed at helping them get and keep fit.
Current programs include:
- 150-Mile Cardio Challenge
Can you exercise 150 miles? If you can, you will be entered into a drawing at the end of the challenge that includes a flat-screen TV, Kindle Fire or Beats Headphones by Dr. Dre. Run, bike, walk, skip, row...it all counts towards the 150 miles. Click here for more information and the registration form.
Group Exercise Classes Don't like to exercise alone? Make fitness fun by joining a class in pilates, zumba, yoga and more. Check out a complete list of classes here.
