This 5,500-square-foot addition to Hickey Dining Hall, which opened just before commencement in May of 2007, has become a popular meeting place for the entire university community.
La Verna's centerpiece, a double-sided fireplace, complements a stunning exterior and interior design. The interior retains the exterior brick wall of Hickey Dining Hall as the exposed wall of the café.
Other design elements include wood beams and floor-to-ceiling windows. The café offers a variety of seating arrangements including different sizes of tables, seating “nooks” with brick wall separation and comfortable seating groupings. The café has a wireless Internet connection.
In addition to a variety of coffee drinks, the cafe offers soups, salads and sandwiches.
